Sanctuary Cap Cana will reopen its doors on January 20 following extensive renovations to its facilities. The 5-star resort is one of the most prestigious in Punta Cana, offering discerning travelers a true taste of luxury and Caribbean hospitality. Its renovation comes at a time when countless resorts are preparing for a busy 2023, which is expected to be the best on record for the travel industry.
According to Playa Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality firm that owns Sanctuary Cap Cana, the luxury all-inclusive resort is set to welcome its first guests on January 20. The property suffered extensive damage last September when hurricane Fiona forced the resort to close. Following the destructive storm – the worst the tropical island had seen for years – the resort underwent extensive renovations to prepare it for future guests.
Sanctuary Cap Cana is a 5-star resort situated on the private shore in Juanillo Beach, where guests can soak in some of the finest tropical views: sun, sea, and white-sand beach merge for an unforgettable Caribbean experience. It’s also an adults-only property, making it the perfect choice for travelers looking for privacy and comfort.
Sanctuary Cap Cana was among the many properties on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic and in Punta Cana that were severely damaged by hurricane Fiona last September. But for the 5-star resort, the re-opening is even more significant and will allow the property to offer guests unparalleled customer service and luxurious amenities.
With 324 suites, Sanctuary Cap Cana offers guests a relaxing getaway surrounded by pure luxury. The resort’s $45 million makeover has added some lavish touches to an already excellent property. Guests can find hints of tropical design throughout the property, such as the coral bathrooms. All suites come with private terraces or balconies, allowing guests to enjoy some of the most private views in Punta Cana. Travelers can choose from over 15 room categories, from the smaller Junior Ocean Suite all the way to the 4,300 square foot Royalty Villa.
From Sanctuary Cap Cana’s 5 restaurants to its 6 outdoor pools, everything at the famed resort is all-inclusive. There are countless amenities on the vast property, and the resort is famous for its top-notch entertainment programs. During the daytime, guests can enjoy outdoor activities – all prepared by the resort – and during the late hours, Sanctuary’s vibrant nightlife entertainment will take care of the rest.
The recent renovation has also made improvements to the resort’s culinary offerings, which include two standout restaurants: Capriccio and The Steakhouse. Other than that, travelers can also find Asian and other international flavors across the resort’s several restaurants.
There’s more good news in store for travelers headed to one of Punta Cana’s most famed resorts. Sanctuary Cap Cana was recently added to Marriott’s The Luxury Collection, an exclusive list of properties around the world that promise to deliver unmatched quality and hospitality to travelers.
Several prestigious resorts in the Dominican Republic are scheduled for major renovations, including Cayo Levantado, a stunning all-inclusive resort situated on a tropical island just south of Samaná. With soaring travel numbers this year, more and more resorts are conducting costly renovations to improve their luxury offerings.
Some of the best resorts in the Caribbean are found in the Dominican Republic, such as La Romana’s Casa de Campo, the country’s oldest resort and home to some of the most famous golf courses in the world. Another quality property to feature on the list of top resorts is Eden Roc Cap Cana, a 60-room resort where privacy, luxury, and comfort combine for an unforgettable experience.
