Riu To Spruce Up One Of Its Leading Caribbean Properties 

Riu is one of the largest resort and hospitality chains in Punta Cana, with a handful of luxury all-inclusive properties. As travel numbers soar and more travelers flock to the coastal destination, Riu is temporarily closing its Palace Macao resort for an extensive makeover.

Situated on the idyllic shores of Playa Arena Gorda in the Macao resort neighborhood, Riu Palace Macao is a 5-star adults-only all-inclusive. With 360 spacious rooms and a beachside location that is hard to beat, the resort is one of the most popular in the city among adult travelers.

According to Riu, the massive resort will be closed for the summer while renovations are underway. The resort’s indoor and outdoor amenities will be completely redesigned to improve luxury, comfort, and service.

The huge resort features 7 distinctive room categories, from the compact Jr Suite Superior to the lavish Suites that feature impressive ocean and garden views. The makeover will further enhance the property’s luxury appeal by adding new high-tech features and modern touches to the decor and furnishings.

Riu is also redesigning the array of on-site amenities, with significant improvements to outdoor facilities such as its pools, bars, and entertainment options. Riu will be adding a brand new Sports Bar – Pepe’s Food – in addition to several new thematic restaurants to delight even the most demanding foodie travelers.
