Casa de Campo, one of the most prestigious 5-star luxury resorts in the Dominican Republic, recently released a new upgraded room category for guests to enjoy. The new rooms, which were inaugurated yesterday on Christmas Eve, are expected to further improve the resort’s already excellent quality, offering an even more exclusive option for discerning travelers.

The new spacious Premier Suites – which total 58 – are part of a wider renovation program that Casa de Campo has been working on for some time already. At a cost of over $50 million, the massive makeover is designed to enhance the resort’s luxury credentials and prepare it for an increasingly demanding clientele.

The resort, located in the southern resort city of La Romana, is well-known for not only its upscale rooms but also its award-winning golf courses and some of the most comprehensive on-site amenities offered by any property in the country.

Casa de Campo is the oldest luxury resort in the tropical country, opening its doors more than 50 years ago. Since then, the property has become an institution of sorts and is widely regarded as one of the top – if not the best – upscale resorts in the Caribbean country. Despite its stellar reputation, the aging property was in need of a dire makeover to enable it to meet the demands of the post-COVID world.

The resort’s new Premier Suites are undoubtedly one of the main novelties introduced by the renovation. They include 26 Premier Junior Suites, which feature king-sized beds, as well as 27 Premier Junior Suites which come with double beds. Lastly, guests will also find four Premier One-Bedroom Suites in the renewed property. Common to all new Premier Suites are private balconies or terraces, as well as 55 and 65-inch state-of-the-art smart TVs.

Discerning travelers can opt for the new Premier Presidential Suite, which has a whopping three bedrooms as well as a private cooking area – of course, guests will have access to their own chefs – and a massive dining area for up to eight occupants. Guests staying in the most lavish suite will also get to enjoy plenty of exclusive services, such as a private butler and upgraded golf carts for moving around the vast property.

The resort’s massive upgrade program will ensure that the property continues to fare well in the context of increased competition in the local hospitality industry. With dozens of resorts opening their doors recently, Casa de Campo is looking for ways to stand out amongst the crowd. After the renovation is complete, it will add a brand new exclusive 1200 square meter spa for guests to enjoy, offering some of the finest treatments on the market.

Guests can already enjoy one of the longest amenity lists offered by any resort in the tropical country – including golfing, several restaurants, a marina, sports and outdoor activities, and even an on-site shopping area. The impressive resort was recently ranked among the top Caribbean properties according to the Readers’ Choice Awards. Ranked 23rd in the region, travelers took note of the resort’s famous Teeth of the Dog golf course and over 10 fine-dining restaurants and 8 bars.

Much like other resorts across the Dominican Republic, Casa de Campo is reporting occupancy rates of 90% until April next year, making it one of the most sought-after luxury properties on the market. Although La Romana is one of the most popular tropical destinations in the country, Punta Cana is by far the busiest, welcoming up to 70% of all travelers in the country.
