The analysis, which draws on reviews gathered by an official site inspector based in the Dominican Republic, reveals that resorts in the tropical country underperform when it comes to cleanliness and maintenance when compared to properties in other countries.

Those issues become all the more important in tropical destinations like Punta Cana, where humidity, precipitation, and extreme weather phenomena can lead to wear and tear.
