A brand new Planet Hollywood resort is set to open in Puerto Plata in 2024 and further improve the choice of all-inclusive accommodation for travelers. The announcement, made earlier this week, is great news for the Puerto Plata region, which is among the most visited resort hotspots in the Dominican Republic.
Planet Hollywood Hotels & Resorts announced plans this week to build a massive new all-inclusive resort in Puerto Plata, in the northeastern Dominican Republic. The brand-new resort will be the first of its type in the Dominican Republic and will be heavily inspired by existing properties in other Caribbean countries.
The brand-new resort is expected to significantly boost the availability of all-inclusive accommodations in Puerto Plata, a city that is seeing investments skyrocket. Although few details have been released about the new resort, it is likely to add at least several hundred new rooms to the city’s inventory.
The Dominican Republic’s first Planet Hollywood resort will come with all of the traditional amenities of a modern 5-star all-inclusive, including several outdoor pools, spacious (and, in this case, extravagantly) designed rooms, and much more. In addition to all that, the new resort will feature plenty of entertainment around the property – both daytime and nighttime.
According to resort executives, the new Planet Hollywood will offer the signature Vacation Like A Star all-inclusive approach: from check-in to room service, guests can expect Hollywood-inspired touches around the resort. There will also be plenty of themed restaurants and a modern spa to pamper guests after a day out enjoying the resort’s countless amenities. Guests can also enjoy lush tropical surroundings, with views of nearby mountains as well as the ocean.
The new property will be built in the massive Punta Bergantín development project, which will see several new resorts and entertainment complexes built. It’ll also offer travelers a glimpse of tropical nature, with abundant ecotourism opportunities. Blue Diamond Resorts – the company that owns and operates the Planet Hollywood franchise – is set to play a key role in shaping the new tourist region of Punta Bergantín.
Executives are expected to release more details about the new resort later on as more detailed plans slowly energy. For the time being, expectations have been set high, and Puerto Plata officials are already looking forward to the new resort. Local authorities have recently been urging more hospitality investments in the area in an attempt to diversify accommodation and boost economic growth.
Planet Hollywood owns several large and highly successful resorts around the Caribbean, including in Cancun and Costa Mujeres, Mexico. Its resorts are designed to make guests feel like true V.I.Ps fresh from a movie set. With movie-themed restaurants and blockbuster-inspired attractions, Planet Hollywood offers an entertaining experience for even the most demanding guests.
Puerto Plata was likely chosen as the site for the new resorts thanks to its awe-inspiring fusion of the Caribbean coastline and stunning mountain scenery. The coastal city, situated on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, is around a 5-hour drive from Punta Cana, the island’s main tourist hotspot. Puerto Plata also has an international airport just a stone’s throw away from the city’s large all-inclusives. With several direct connections to North American destinations, Puerto Plata is one of the top destinations on the tropical island for sun-seeking travelers.
The Dominican Republic has seen a flurry of new resort and hotel openings lately, and more is in store this year. The country was recently ranked as one of the top destinations to visit this year, according to TripAdvisor, as a growing number of travelers opt for this Caribbean gem.
