Hodelpa, a real estate development firm, is building a massive new residential area in Puerto Plata, one of the top resort destinations in the Dominican Republic. Aiming to attract both tourists and locals, the new resort and residential area is expected to diversify tourism accommodation in the Puerto Plata area.

The new development, called Xanadú Resort & Residences, is proving to be extremely popular among eager clients, and more than 90% of the 225 residences have already been sold out. The project is just one of the many ongoing resort and real estate developments in the popular resort town, which is seeing demand soar for new accommodation.

Property owners in the new Xanadú Resort & Residences can enjoy stunning tropical views from a privileged location in Playa Dorada, near Puerto Plata, with more than 300 metres of private beach. The housing concept is aiming to attract both short-term visitors, who have the option of renting out an apartment, as well as long-term owners, who can vacation in the area or settle in permanently.

Set for completion sometime in March next year, Xanadú Resort & Residences covers more than 35,000 square metres of land, with an estimated investment of around $36 million dollars. The company is selling a total of 225 apartments in 20 different buildings, and more than 90% of the new residences have already been sold out.

Hodelpa is currently focusing on selling the remaining apartments on the local and international market. The company says the existing properties have mostly been purchased by North American and European clients, although Dominican customers have also shown strong interest in the new real estate project.

According to Hamlet Pérez Mármol, the property’s sales director, potential clients will find a total of 225 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments in Xanadú Resort & Residences. The smallest studio apartments have a floor space of 33 square metres, with the biggest units coming in at 153 square metres, complete with three bedrooms, a living room, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Each apartment comes with a view to either lush gardens, the tropical sea, or swimming azure pools.

Aside from new apartments, property owners in Xanadú will have access to several exclusive luxury amenities. The real estate firm says guests can find everything they need within a walking distance. Much like an all-inclusive resort, guests can access common spaces where they can enjoy a bustling expat community.

There will be 12 new pools dotted around the massive property, with 7 private pools located in the more lavish buildings. As if the pools weren’t enough, guests will be able to kick back and relax with Xanadú’s own massage service. Visitors will also have endless entertainment options, and will find everything from a private bowling alley to party and event venues, as well as gaming areas for the smaller ones.

Meanwhile, Xanadú’s high-speed Wi-Fi means residents can get work done, attend online classes, or enjoy streaming services from their luxury apartments. Other practical aspects, such as concierge services, and impenetrable security, are also looked after in the new, high-tech resort and residential area.

Located in Puerto Plata, the country’s second most important resort destination after Punta Cana, Xanadú residents will be eligible for special discounts in local bars and restaurants, including the nearby Oegano Dominican Fusion and the Mexican-inspired Lolita. They’ll also benefit from special access to Emotions Puerto Plata’s Evolutions Spa.

Puerto Plata is resort hotspot situated on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, and the city has its own airport. Several airlines including JetBlue, Sunwing Airlines, and Air Canada fly non-stop to the destination from North American hubs like New York, Miami, and Toronto.
