New 1200 Room Resort Will Be Built On Bavaro Beach In Punta Cana

This week in Punta Cana, the CEO of Lopesan Hotel Group, Francisco Lopez, met with President Luis Abinader and Minister David Collado to discuss the development of the ‘La Ceiba’ hotel.

The Lopesan Group plans to invest 233.5 million dollars in the hotel, set to have 1,204 rooms for a maximum of 2,246 guests between the Ceiba and Lopesan Costa Bavaro hotels.

This comes after the Lopesan Group has invested over USD $350 million in the “Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort, Spa & Casino” hotel. With 1,042 hotel rooms, the development of this hotel has generated 1,350 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs, helping to boost the economy of the country.

The initial construction of the Lopsean Costa Bavaro Resort Spa and Casino occurred in May 2019, with more than 337 million euros invested in it. Since it has opened, the 5-star destination has established itself as one of the most exclusive resorts in the Caribbean to showcase the allure of Punta Cana.

The resort also boasts an Adults Only Club, which is ideal for couples and groups who want to experience a more sophisticated side of the tropics. The club consists of several trendy bars, an adults-only section of the Bavaro beach, and unlimited access to The Boulevard, a recreation centre complete with bars, restaurants and a nightclub.

There is also the Unique Club by Lopesan, which offers top guests exclusive services and exquisite rooms. It is also located along Bavaro Beach, which is recognised by Trip Advisor as one of the 25 best beaches in the world.

There is also a mini club at the resort for children aged 4 to 12, as well as 8 on-site bars, 10 on-site restaurants, a fitness centre and a salon, not to mention 4 pools and a waterpark.

The hotel ‘La Ceiba’ is expected to follow suit, with a spectacular structural design that is set to complement the natural beauty of Punta Cana. ‘La Ceiba’ is also thought to display authentic Dominican furnishings so visitors really feel at home in the Caribbean country.

The hotel ‘La Ceiba’ is not the only new development in the Punta Cana area: a new hotel, named “Secrets Tides Punta Cana Resort & Spa” is set to open in 2023, with 670 rooms and many luxurious amenities.

Many hospitality companies decide to build hotels and resorts in Punta Cana as it has 8 different beaches, all with golden or white sands. Many of these beaches are ranked as some of the world’s best by the European Blue Flag organization.

Bavaro Beach is undoubtedly the most popular: with sparkling azure waters and powdery white sand, it is also in close proximity to various gift shops and restaurants, perfect for international visitors.

At the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2022, the Lopesan Group was given an award by the travel company, Expedia, for the “Top Member Only Deal Growth 2022” based on the growing popularity of the Costa Bavaro Resort.

At DATE 2022, Vice President For Latin America and the Caribbean at Expedia Group revealed that searches for travel to the Dominican Republic grew up to 40% in the first three months of 2022, compared to the previous year. More specifically, there has been a 150% increase in searches for Punta Cana, which makes it the perfect time to invest in a new hotel.

Franciso Lopez also stated that the Lopesan Costa Bavaro Hotel has had an ‘excellent reception from tour operators and the local public’, at DATE 2022. The Lopesan Hotel Group hopes that the development of the La Ceiba hotel will be just as dazzling for travellers in Punta Cana.
