Travelers can look forward to a brand new luxury hospitality concept in Punta Cana with the official opening of Falcon’s Resort by Meliá. The massive and much-awaited property opened its doors to sun-seeking guests last Sunday, offering much more than your typical upscale resort. Falcon’s Resort by Meliá is officially up and running after opening its doors last Sunday. The Dominican president Luis Abinader took part in the opening ceremony – a testament to the importance of Meliá’s massive undertaking – paving the way for the resort to welcome its first guests.

The brand-new resort is opening amid extremely high expectations among travelers and hospitality industry partners. Meliá’s ambitious project has been in the making for over a year and is promising to offer discerning guests an innovative stay that combines leading entertainment with luxury accommodations. The new concept, known as resortainent, is a blend that mixes traditional hotel comfort and relaxation with some out-of-the-box entertainment options to keep guests occupied day and night. The crown jewel of the new development is Katmandu Park, the first theme park of its kind to open in the Caribbean.

The massive amusement park is set to open its doors shortly, on March 15, ushering in a new era for Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic. The massive new theme park can accommodate thousands of visitors per day and will mostly focus on attracting families, although adults too will find enjoyment in the park’s many amenities.

Here’s What Travelers Can Expect From The New Resort

Immersive entertainment, private beach access, and world-class dining are just a few of the new amenities guests can look forward to at Falcon’s Resort. The 5-star luxury property is all about interactivity and customization, offering travelers a range of services to make their trip unforgettable.

Travelers will find over 600 suites at the new resort divided into 10 distinct room categories. From the 3000-square-foot master suite to the spacious standard suite, all of Melia’s stunning accommodations are beautifully appointed with modern decor and a fresh, bright design. 

While the new resort is ideal for families – it comes with its own Kids Club and Family Rooms – solo travelers and couples will be delighted with amenities such as private pools, a sumptuous spa, and a relaxing tropical golf course. The resort’s concierge service is also available to assist guests in making the most of their stay.

Kathmandu Park – The Caribbean’s First Theme Park

Aside from upscale amenities and stunning rooms, guests will also be able to access Katmandu Park, a major new theme park and the first of its kind in the region. The cutting-edge park has been designed by Orlando-based Falcon’s Beyond, a leading provider of theme parks around the world.

The new theme park will house several high-tech immersive rides, such as the Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer, the world’s first Suspended Theater attraction, as well as the Legend of the Desiderata, a 4-D dark ride attraction. Visitors will fund abundant decorations and mystical themes throughout the expansive park, providing for a magical and otherworldly experience.

Punta Cana visitors can purchase entrance tickets to the new theme park, which start at $120 for adults and $85 for children. VIP tickets and other packages are also available.
