According to the company, which also sells resort and vacation packages, travelers are increasingly keen on sunny beach destinations, such as those found in the Dominican Republic.
In a press release, Andrés Barry, president of JetBlue Travel Products, noted that “summer bookings are growing rapidly, with most clients opting for warm coastal destinations, especially Caribbean ones,” the executive said.
The company also added that travelers are booking stays an average of 6 and a half nights this summer, a significant increase compared to previous years. With several dozen all-inclusive resorts, Punta Cana is one of the best choices when it comes to the variety and quality of beachside properties.
With so many people set to travel this summer, now is the best time to book your summer vacation. Compared to previous years, JetBlue says travelers are booking well ahead of their vacations to get the best deals on flights and hotels.
Not only is Punta Cana the most popular Caribbean destination, but it also managed to outrank vacation hotspots like Nassau or Las Vegas, an impressive feat for the tropical city.
JetBlue’s own statistics are in line with those published by Dominican authorities, who have reported record arrivals for several months in a row. Analysts have said the Dominican Republic is likely to break last year’s tourism record with over 8 million arrivals by the end of the year.
The Dominican Republic was chosen as one of the top 10 destinations to visit in 2023 by Tripadvisor. The online travel giant highlighted the country’s vast history and rich culture, as well as its stunning landscape and tropical white-sand beaches.
With soaring travel figures, the Dominican Republic is experiencing a boom in new hotels and resorts. While Punta Cana will remain the most popular destination for years to come, new resort hotspots are popping up around the country.

Quieter destinations can also be found in many of the Dominican Republic’s eco-tourism hotspots, such as the Parque Nacional Jaragua, the largest protected area in the Caribbean.
