WestJet is offering travellers up to USD $350 off an all-inclusive five-night stay at Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort when booked before May 9th.
The ‘adults-only’ resort (18+) boasts spectacular oceanfront views and several amenities, including access to the Cocotal Golf and Country Club, a spa and fitness centre and four outdoor pools.
The resort is also well known for a multitude of on-site sports and recreational activities, including a climbing wall, bicycle access, tennis courts and hiking. It has been awarded 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor.
The package deal offers travellers four room options to choose from, ranging from the 450 square feet Deluxe Room with a private balcony to the ocean-facing Level Suite with an included spa treatment. Altogether, there are 538 rooms to choose from. Travellers staying in any of the 136 Level suites can expect a luxurious getaway including an exclusive pool, restaurant, VIP check-in lounge and premium beverages.
The beach resort places an emphasis on health and wellness, with a sauna and steam room, spa, and salon on-site for travellers to pamper themselves with. There are also four main restaurants on-sight at the resort, ranging from Asian-inspired delicacies to a la carte menus and more. There is also the Quimera restaurant, exclusive to guests with access to Level suites only.
The resort was initially built in 2019 when Melia ran a USD $30 million project to split the original Melia Caribe Tropical resort into two all-inclusive beach hotels in the Dominican Republic.
One is now the family-friendly Melia Caribe Beach Resort, and the second is the adults-only Melia Punta Cana Beach Resort visited by hundreds of jet setters every year.
Punta Cana is not only famous for stunning white beaches and crystal clear water – it also has exquisite national parks, whale-watching tours and zip lining on offer. The Punta Cana Beach Resort is in close proximity to many of these activities, such as the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Reserve.
Here, travellers can explore the lowland subtropical forest and swim in emerald green freshwater lagoons, as well as learn about the indigenous Taino culture of the Dominican Republic.
More adventurous travellers who want to explore what Punta Cana has to offer can also go on a day trip to Isla Saona or Catalina Island.
These excursions are south of Punta Cana’s mainland and are filled with exotic wildlife and untouched coral reefs, making them perfect for budding scuba divers as well as snorkelers. The islands are available to visit by Catamaran tours and take travellers away from some of the tourist traps on the mainland.
The WestJet website offers departures from as early as May 13th until the winter season of November and December. Flights are available from various major cities in the U.S and Canada, including New York, Miami and Atlanta and Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.
All flights from U.S locations will land at Punta Cana International Airport, which is conveniently located 25 minutes from the beach resort by car. The airport also offers taxi services and well as car rentals from Hertz, Avis, Dollar, Budget and Europcar for ease of access around the island.
As one of the most popular destinations for American travellers, this summer, hotels and resorts in the Punta Cana region are on track to be fully booked in the next few months. With over 1.1 million flight itineraries already developed, and a projected 7 million tourists expected to visit the country this year, travellers should aim to book accommodation and flights as soon as possible to guarantee the best deals possible.
