Wyndham has revealed plans to launch a new 22-story luxury hotel in the Dominican Republic’s bustling capital. The new property will be called Wyndham Grand Torre Everest Santo Domingo and will become one of the country’s tallest hotels once construction is complete in spring 2025. As a novelty, the hotel will feature one of the most impressive rooftop dining venues in the Dominican Republic.
The new massive hotel is set to significantly change up Santo Domingo’s skyline – thus far dominated by low-rises and apartment condos – and help revitalize the local accommodation offering. Wyndham Grand Torre Everest Santo Domingo will be a 5-star luxury hotel and is expected to be one of the most lavish in Santo Domingo upon completion.
In addition to offering some of the highest levels of comfort and design in the Santo Domingo area, the new property will feature Restaurante 360 WIEW, a world-class rotating dining venue with full panoramic views. The attraction will be the first of its kind in the Dominican Republic and is expected to further put Santo Domingo on the world map when it comes to luxury travel. At a cost of over $100 million, the new hotel will be a significant addition to Wyndham’s growing inventory in the Dominican Republic.

Wyndham’s new hotel will have 22 floors containing not only lavish rooms but also a range of amenities and services to meet guests’ every demand. Construction of the new property is already well underway, and over half of the hotel’s floors have already been built. Once complete, Wyndham Grand Torre Everest Santo Domingo will become an impressive landmark for the Dominican capital, and its modern, sleek appearance will help boost the location’s appeal among travelers.
According to hotel executives, the new 5-star hotel will have 252 lavish and spacious rooms distributed across its 22 floors. From modest single rooms all the way to top-floor premium suites, Everest Wyndham Grand will cater to a range of travel needs, both domestic and international. All of the hotel’s rooms will have a contemporary feel to them, in line with other modern resorts being built in the Dominican Republic.
Travelers will also find several impressive amenities in the new hotel, including two new restaurants, conference spaces, a gym, and room service. Wyndham is also largely focusing on the growing business travel segment and is hoping to attract more companies and digital nomads to the country’s growing capital.
Although Santo Domingo is the capital and the largest city in the Dominican Republic, the metropolis lacks the all-inclusive allure found in Punta Cana, Samaná, and Puerto Plata. That being said, the city – the oldest in the Americas – is home to some impressive cultural and historical attractions that make it a must-see. Santo Domingo’s old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with copious historical monuments such as Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, built in 1550.
Aside from several new hotel developments, Santo Domingo was recently ranked as one of the top locations for Airbnbs in the Dominican Republic. The popularity of online vacation rentals has skyrocketed in the tropical island over the past several years, and the trend is likely to continue in 2023.
Wyndham, one of the largest hospitality firms in the Dominican Republic, has revealed ambitious plans to build up to 18 new hotels and resorts in the Caribbean island over the next few years, including Canis Dazzler Santo Domingo by Wyndham y Caribbean Dazzler Juan Dolio by Wyndham. According to the hotel giant, aside from focusing on the likes of Punta Cana and Puerto Plata, it aims to build new properties in more remote locations to take advantage of the Dominican Republic’s vast tourism potential.
