American low cost carrier JetBlue has announced new deals on flights to Santo Domingo and Punta Cana this fall from several U.S cities. JetBlue is one of the largest low-cost airlines in North America, and the carrier is hoping to encourage even more travelers to fly to the Dominican Republic, one of its most important Caribbean destinations.

The new deals are available for flights in October and November, for as little as $49 one-way. Based on JetBlue’s flight calendar, flights from New York’s JFK airport to Punta Cana start at $166 dollars, with flights from Newark priced similarly. On the other hand, passengers flying from La Guardia will have to spend slightly more, around $196 for a one-way ticket.

Passengers looking for a better deal can consider flying to Santo Domingo, the country’s vibrant capital. The city is especially popular for history and culture lovers, and has countless AirBnb accommodations that are ideal for budget travelers. Flights to the capital currently cost around $145 from New York’s main airports.

Travelers can look for the deals on JetBlue’s website through the “Best Fare Finder,” where they can scout for the lowest prices. However, it’s important to note that the above-mentioned prices don’t include other surcharges like additional suitcases or priority boarding.

Despite its solid popularity in the low-cost market, the airline has come under fire among Dominican tourists due to the poor customer service, canceled flights, and growing delays which have affected flights to the country in recent months. New Fall And Winter Flights Authorized To The Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic’s aviation authority has authorised several new air routes to the tropical country this fall and winter. Sky High, one of the country’s carriers, will operate six new routes to the United States. The new decision enables the airline to fly non-stop from Santo Domingo to Miami, Tampa, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Boston, as well as from Punta Cana to Miami.

The new routes are good news for travlers based in and around Florida, who will have even more flights available to them. Sky High will operate two flights per week for each of the new routes on board the airline’s Embraer 190 aircraft, with a capacity for 97 passengers.

Meanwhile, Lufthansa has also requested the opening of new codeshare flights between Panamá and Santo Domingo, as well as Punta Cana and Panamá. Air Caraibes will also operate 26 non-stop flights between Paris and Punta Cana between October 4, 2022 and March 28, 2023.

Altogether, the new routes are expected to further boost travel numbers to the Dominican Republic, which has reported back-to-back monthly records in international arrivals.
