Samana is the name of the local town and the name of the Bay. It’s a great destination for travelers who like adventure and like to explore less crowded paradises in the Caribbean.

It has its own international airport and Santo Domingo’s airport is only 93 kilometers away— about 58 miles. American Airlines is currently the only carrier in the United States offering direct flights to Samana from Miami. Other airlines like Jetblue, Delta, Frontier, and Spirit have more options to Santo Domingo airport.

This popular destination offers travelers spectacular beaches like Playa Rincon, Las Terrenas, and Las Galeras, but also a beautiful national park —the National Park Los Haitises— and a gorgeous waterfall called El Limon.

Samana is also known for its iconic bridges. The walking bridge Puente Samana allows travelers to enjoy a great view of the bay and admire the local beauty.
