Bayahíbe, one of the most popular resort destinations in the southeast Dominican Republic, is just about to become a lot better thanks to the renovation of one of its leading 5-star resorts. The massive 528-room Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus recently reopened its doors after undergoing a major renovation to boost its luxury amenities and facilities. The renovation comes as travelers are setting their eyes on the Dominican Republic in 2023, allured by the country’s white-sand beaches, warm tropical climate, and some of the best hospitality in the Caribbean.
Iberostar Beachfront Resorts — a leading hospitality firm in the Dominican Republic — just announced that one of its most lavish resorts is welcoming guests once again. The resort in question is no other than the famed Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus, a 5-star luxury resort in the touristy province of La Altagracia.
The resort has undergone extensive renovations, with improvements being made to all of its 528 rooms as well as its impressive amenities. Each of the resort’s spacious rooms now comes with high-tech features such as Chromecast, USB charging ports, efficient lighting systems as well as new easy-to-use door lock mechanisms.
Many of the resort’s outdoor facilities have received a facelift, and guests can look forward to a new bubble pool as well as improvements to the resort’s grand lobby. Although the renovation program is nearly complete, executives say that work will continue throughout 2023 and that the resort’s conference center, as well as its gym, are set to receive major changes later this year.

What Makes The Resort One Of The Best In Bayabíbe
The 5-star resort is an excellent choice for adults and young couples, who can relax in privacy and comfort thanks to some of the most spacious and elegantly-designed rooms in town. It’s also a great choice for families, and the younger ones can spend hours playing in the new Star Camp, a kids-only zone with fun and games, including a child-friendly kitchen.
Iberostar Selection Hacienda Dominicus already has a stellar 4.7-star rating on Google Reviews, and guests have set their expectations high for the renewed resort. According to Melissa Foy, the resort’s deputy director, the ambitious renovation program began in early 2022 and was carried out in two phases. The goal was simple: to elevate the guest experience by vastly adding new modern features across the resort while conserving its already excellent luxury amenities.
One of the renovation’s main goals is also to attract more North American visitors, who have been mainly flocking to Punta Cana and Samaná. The resort now hopes to bring in more Americans at a time when the Dominican Republic is seeing its popularity skyrocket thanks to good flight connections, affordability, and top-notch hospitality.
The resort first opened its doors some 20 years ago, and its rooms were in a dire need of a makeover to allow them to meet the demands of the 21st century. After the renovation program is fully complete this year, Iberostar’s resort is also expected to become one of the top choices for business travelers thanks to its modern conference spaces.
Several famous resorts in the Dominican Republic have implemented sweeping changes to their rooms recently, including Sanctuary Cap Cana. With a record number of hotels on the market, existing properties are doing their best to retain loyal customers by adding new amenities and improving existing ones. Later this year, Cayo Levantado, one of the country’s most prestigious resorts situated on a pristine island close to Samaná, is set to welcome guests after finalizing a large-scale renovation.
