The Dominican Republic is quickly becoming one of the most popular destinations for U.S. travelers, and a growing number of American airlines are starting to offer more flights to the sun-soaked island.
The latest U.S.-based carrier to do so is JetBlue, which has announced brand new flights to the Dominican Republic from Florida starting this November.
New JetBlue Launches New Flights From Its Orlando Hub
JetBlue, the largest U.S. carrier flying to the Dominican Republic, has just announced new flights to the country.
The new flights will mainly originate from Florida, with a direct daily connection being announced from Orlando to Santiago de los Caballeros. The new route will begin operating on November 4, 2023, just in time for the winter travel season.
The new route is currently the only direct flight from Orlando to the Dominican city, making it the perfect choice for travelers that want to do city exploration or travel to other Dominican Republic hotspots, including Punta Cana.
According to JetBlue, the Santiago-bound flight will operate daily from Orlando at 1:00 P.M., with the return flight from Santigo to Orlando departing daily at 5:30 P.M.
JetBlue has also revealed plans to launch a new direct flight from Punta Cana to Orlando.
Being the most popular resort destination in the country, it’s no surprise that airlines are keen on maximizing the frequency of their flights to the coastal destination.

The airline will be operating a new daily departure to Punta Cana at 8:35 A.M., with the return flight from Punta Cana to Orlando programmed daily at 1:10 P.M. local time.
The new route will begin operations on November 4 this year, just in time for Thanksgiving.
Travelers keen on visiting the tropical island can already book, especially with JetBlue’s ongoing deal for its “low-fare, high-quality flights.”
With deals for as low as $125 per person, the low-cost airline offers some of the most competitive rates on the market.
JetBlue is one of the most popular airlines for travelers, thanks to its generous onboard amenities.
Despite having a reputation as a low-cost airline, JetBlue provides free entertainment, free high-speed WiFi as well as a range of complimentary snacks.
The airline is currently one of the most connected carriers when it comes to the Dominican Republic, offering non-stop flights from large U.S. hubs such as New York, Boston, and Miami.
With the upcoming merger of JetBlue and Spirit, travelers will have more options available to them than ever before.
The acquisition is likely to boost travel to the Dominican Republic even further, placing the country one step closer to reaching a new tourism record this year.
Why Travelers Are Putting Santiago On Their Bucket List
Santiago de los Caballeros is the second-largest city in the Dominican Republic.
Although the city hasn’t traditionally been a tourist hotspot, travelers are slowly starting to discover this hidden gem packed with tropical vibes, friendly locals, and an impressive historical legacy.
Situated in the north-central Dominican Republic, Santiago is home to over 1.3 million people and is one of the best city getaways in the Dominican Republic. Its unique location makes it a great hub for discovering other local attractions, including nearby Puerto Plata and Samaná.
