Two of Hyatt’s newest properties in Punta Cana were recently voted the best resorts in the Dominican Republic by Travel Weekly. Altogether, the resorts racked up four accolades in the 2022 edition of the prestigious Magellan Awards, a testament to the excellent quality, service, and all-inclusive luxury offered by the 4-star resorts, which opened in 2019.
Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Capa were awarded 4 Magellan Awards in the latest edition of the annual travel awards given by Northstar Travel Media and Travel Weekly Magazine. The famed awards are handed out to leading resorts across the globe based on their design, quality, and customer service, among other criteria.
Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Capa are relatively recent resorts, opening their doors in December 2019. Since then, they have quickly earned a unique status among Punta Cana resorts and are considered some of the best all-inclusive properties in the popular destination. Both properties have a stellar 5-star rating on TripAdvisor and are ranked the top two resorts in Punta Cana.
Hyatt Ziva & Zilara Cap Cana won two gold accolades in different categories in the 2022 edition of Travel Weekly’s tourism industry awards, with both resorts receiving top marks in the ‘hospitality’ category. The all-inclusive resorts already have an excellent track record in providing the finest service to travelers, and this year’s awards are sure to further boost the properties’ popularity among visitors.

This year’s edition of the Magellan Awards highlighted the service, design, and overall guest experience provided by the 4-star properties. The awards are given out by a jury made up of travel experts and professionals and are renowned among discerning tourists and executives across the travel industry. Much thought has gone into designing the physical layout and all-inclusive service philosophy behind the grand resorts, which both have around 350 rooms.
Another category in which the two resorts received an award is their design, especially the common lobby area, which has an open and lavish appearance. Resorts are increasingly focused on providing guests with an impressive and well-designed lobby, and this is something Hyatt’s Punta Cana properties certainly do well.
According to Brad Cirino, the Playa Hotels & Resorts vice president for sales, “It is an honor for Playa properties to win the awards,” the executive said in a statement, adding that “with stiff competition from around the world, the Magellan awards highlight successful resorts in the travel industry, as well as the tireless work done to promote them.”
