@bonvoyagejackie The Dominican Republic is a great destination for solo travelers! I spent my first week of my solo trip in the capital, Santo Domingo. La Choza Guesthouse was a great place to meet other travelers (I also met up with some people I connected with from some online solo travel groups as well) Overall, I felt very safe walking around the Zona Colonial section of the city during the day and evening as well. #solotraveler #solotravel #solotravelwoman #solofemaletravel #dominicanrepublic #santodomingo #dominicanrepublictravel #visitdominicamrepublic #solotraveltips ♬ Astro Beat – Staysee
According to a press release, Hyatt will launch the first-ever Centric property in the Dominican Republic. Known for their convenient locations near the hustle and bustle of major cities across the globe, Centric hotels boast a boutique style featuring a modern design that enhances comfort and relaxation.
Hyatt has chosen Santo Domingo as the first location to boast a Centric hotel, owing to the city’s rising popularity for cultural and business travel. The new property will boast 130 trendy rooms and some congress and meeting facilities measuring some 5,000 square feet in size.
The new 24-story property will be among the tallest hotels in the capital, providing a unique vantage point from which to enjoy Santo Domingo’s eclectic architecture and city life. Hyatt Centric Santo Domingo will feature a multi-use design, with local shops integrated with the main hotel structure.
Guests will also be able to enjoy several restaurants and lounges, offering the perfect way to unwind after a day of enjoying Santo Domingo’s main cultural and historical sites.

Here’s Why Travelers Are Flocking To Santo Domingo
Santo Domingo has risen in popularity with travelers in recent months thanks to new investments in the capital’s old town, Ciudad Colonial, which has made the oldest city in the Americas more walkable and safe.
