Five Dominican Republic hotels are among the best in the world according to the Forbes Travel Guide 2022. The prestigious list includes over a thousand hotels around the world known for their excellent service and amenities. The guide awards hotels either 4 or 5 stars depending on factors like comfort and customer service quality. There is also a separate category for recommended hotels. The Dominican Republic is famous for its all-inclusive resort hotels, which are usually located along the country’s tropical beaches. It is home to some of the most exclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
The 64th annual Forbes Travel Guide takes a look at some of the world’s leading accommodation establishments. This year, the list features five luxurious Dominican hotels that offer guests unparalleled comfort, quality, and activities including golf and private tours. Located in beautiful tropical surroundings, the resorts focus on creating a unique and exclusive experience. With private access to beaches, as well as on-demand service, the hotels in this year’s ranking go the extra mile for customer satisfaction
The five Dominican hotels that made this year’s guide include a few hotels that have already been featured in the list previously, including Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, Amanera, Eden Roc at Cap Cana, and Tortuga Bay Puntacana Resort & Club. Meanwhile, the JW Marriot in Santo Domingo was included as a recommended hotel.
There are several features that make the chosen properties stand out when compared to other hotels. Their privileged location – often far from other busy resorts – come with exclusive views of the surrounding Caribbean nature. Featuring big villas and deluxe rooms, each hotel aims to provide maximum privacy and comfort.
The Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is located in La Romana, one of the island’s top resort destinations, and is the country’s first resort-style hotel. The resort is situated right by the beach, and its pool offers views of the Caribbean seaside. With over 7000 acres of surface area as well as three golf courses, guests are even provided with private golf carts to move around in during their stay.
Amanera is another 5-star luxury hotel with private views of the island’s nature. Situated above the white sands of the Playa grande, guests can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding areas. It also has an infinity pool with views of the nearby beach. With a timeless interior design as well as plenty of greenery, the hotel is a great choice for guests who want to unwind in luxury.
Eden Roc Cap Cana is another award-winning hotel featured in this year’s guide. It offers 65 rooms in a secluded property with exclusive beachfront access. Located in the eastern tip of the country, guests choosing the resort can enjoy some of the island’s best beaches.
Lastly, the Tortuga Bay Hotel Punta Cana has several high-end villas complete with attentive service throughout guests’ stay. From a VIP customs experience at the airport to the tailor-made service during the stay, the hotel takes care of its customers’ needs.
To come up with the extensive list, hundreds of anonymous hotel sommeliers spent three days and two nights at each hotel. The evaluation criteria include more than 900 indicators of hotel quality. The evaluators paid close attention to things like modern amenities, as well as the overall comfort of the stay. More traditional features such as good customer service and interior decor were also important in the final ranking. The guide also includes dozens of restaurants and spas.
With millions of tourists headed to the Dominican Republic this year, many will be looking for the best luxury accommodation. Luckily, the island also offers more affordable stays in locations such as Punta Cana.
