Puerto Plata is one of the trendiest destinations this year in the Dominican Republic. The coastal destination, located on the northern coast of the tropical island, is a major resort and cruise ship hotspot.

American Airlines recently announced a major expansion of its Puerto Plata flights amid skyrocketing traveler demand. American Airlines is the most significant carrier in the United States, operating one of the world’s largest fleets and flight networks.

One of the most active carriers in terms of flights to the Dominican Republic, American Airlines is now seeking to expand its dominance in the sunny destination.

This December, American Airlines will launch new flights to Puerto Plata from Miami and Charlotte, two key U.S. airports. Moreover, the U.S. carrier will increase the frequency of its departures from Dallas-Fort Worth and New York to Puerto Plata.

American Airlines will operate three weekly flights from Miami to Puerto Plata starting on December 5th and will operate the route until early April 2024. Meanwhile, the air carrier will increase the frequency of its Charlotte to Puerto Plata flights to four daily departures.

The new Charlotte to Puerto Plata flights will begin operating on December 5th, lasting until April 3rd. American Airlines has also announced more frequencies from Dallas Fort Worth to Puerto Plata. Texas travelers can fly to Puerto Plata daily starting on December 21, with the route set to run until April 3rd.

The biggest increase in flights will occur on American Airlines flights from New York to Puerto Plata, which the carrier will operate twice daily starting on November 5th. Flights from America’s largest city will run until April 3, 2024.
