Work has officially begun in Punta Cana on the first W all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic.
Construction of the landmark resort is set to be complete by summer 2024, and the massive resort is expected to become one of the most lavish in the resort destination.
New All-Inclusive W Resort Coming To Punta Cana
Punta Cana is set to have the first-ever W resort in the Dominican Republic.
While many W hotels can be found in cities across the globe, Punta Cana will be among the first destinations to have an all-inclusive luxury resort belonging to the prestigious brand.
The groundbreaking new property will be an adults-only resort in Uvero Alto, one of the most iconic resort neighborhoods in the Punta Cana area.
Work on the new resort is expected to take a little over a year.
This week, Dominican Republic president Luis Abinaders and the country’s tourism minister David Collado took part in the launching of the resort’s construction, highlighting the importance of the new property for both Punta Cana as well as the whole country.
According to Frank Elías Raineri, president and CEO of Grupo Puntacana, “the new W Punta Cana Uvero Alto shows our commitment to developing the Dominican Republic’s tourism potential by elevating the availability of luxury accommodation,” the business magnate said in a statement.

Situated in Uvero Alto, the new resort is being built on a beautiful stretch of white-sand beach and will be surrounded by tropical scenery in all directions.
Offering peace and quiet, W Punta Cana will be the ideal choice for adults that want to get away from it all.
W Punta Cana Will Be Packed With Luxurious Amenities
W Punta Cana will have 349 spacious and elegantly appointed suites featuring ocean and garden views. Each room will come with a private balcony, and many will also offer guests their own plunge pool.
The adult-only resort will also have plenty of outdoor amenities, including three pools, as well as lush gardens.
From comfortable standard suites to the most lavish suites, W Punta Cana will offer a range of suite sizes to accommodate travelers’ needs.
Regardless of the room type, all of the resort’s suites come with modern amenities and luxurious furnishings.
Being an adults-only property, entertainment will be one of the main focuses of the new W Punta Cana. From beach parties to clubbing, guests can look forward to countless options when it comes to letting loose.
W Punta Cana’s on-site spa facilities, which include 11 treatment rooms, will be the perfect place to relax after a night out.
Guests will find eleven bars and restaurants featuring a wide range of gastronomic options, from local delicacies to fine international dining establishments.
New Resorts Being Built To Meet Demand
W Punta Cana isn’t the only new resort to open its door in the near future as the Dominican Republic continues to soar in popularity.
In February, the sun-soaked island welcomed over 800,000 international travelers, a new monthly record. With demand reaching new highs, new resorts are constantly being opened in the Dominican Republic.
Holdelpa and AMR, some of the largest hospitality firms in the country, are among the latest to announce new resorts.
The former is planning to build nearly 1000 new rooms in Punta Cana and Samaná, while the latter has launched several properties over the last year in Punta Cana. Some of the country’s most iconic resorts are also getting makeovers, such as the prestigious Cayo Levantado, with a reopening set for early next year.
