Construction of a new luxury condo hotel is underway in Playa Palenque in the southern Dominican Republic. The new property, owned by hospitality giant Wyndham, consists of residential buildings as well as lavish villas. Set to open in 2023, the new condo hotel will offer stunning views of the adjacent beach.
TRYP is Wyndham’s latest undertaking in the Dominican Republic. Located in San Cristóbal, the new mixed-use property is made up of 44 condo hotel units, 36 residential units, and several bungalows. This week, Dominican president Luis Abinader and the country’s tourism minister David Collado oversaw the launch of construction of the new project, which is expected to be complete by next year.
The new property is built inside a gated community, offering buyers and guests unmatched privacy and security. Wyndham is taking advantage of the area’s stunning natural beauty, and all units in TRYP offer unobstructed views of the nearby ocean and dark-sand beach. TRYP is located just 45 minutes from the capital’s Las Américas International Airport, and guests can enjoy an array of services in the vicinity of the property.

Guests opting to stay at the new resort complex can choose from several room categories. TRYP’s interior design is characterized by bright colors and an inviting ambiance, providing guests with the perfect space to relax and unwind. TRYP’s single bedrooms measure 32 square meters, with the double bedrooms coming in at 38 square meters. Meanwhile, the connecting suites are ideal for families or larger groups. The four-star hotel comes with all the bells and whistles of a high-end all-inclusive resort, including room service, valet, and concierge services.
TRYP comes packed with a range of luxurious amenities for hotel guests and condo owners. The property will feature a common pool with beautiful ocean views and a second one exclusively for condo residences. Guests can also enjoy several outdoor amenities, lush gardens, and several bars. The property will also offer an array of 24-hour services, including valet, housekeeping, and room service.
Homeowners and travelers can find everything they need within the gated community: from shopping to fitness services and everything in between. At a cost of over $20 million, TRYP is a considerable undertaking for Wyndham – one of the world’s largest hotel and resort firms – and a testament to the growing popularity of the Dominican Republic.
TRYP is currently under construction and is located entirely in Coconut Paradise, a gated community area where travelers can find restaurants, shopping options, and around-the-clock security.
Meanwhile, buyers looking for the perfect Caribbean vacation home can also opt to purchase a property at TRYP. Wyndham offers buyers three spacious room categories: single, double, and connecting triplexes. With prices ranging from $155,000 to $210,000, TRYP’s units are affordably priced and offer unmatched flexibility for buyers. Homeowners are also eligible for special discounts and services to make their vacation even more comfortable.
The Dominican Republic is seeing a flurry of new hotel openings as well as massive construction projects. The tropical island was recently ranked among the most popular destinations for U.S. travelers in winter, and its airports have seen record numbers of passenger traffic as the country heads into the busy winter travel season.
Aside from Punta Cana – the country’s top resort destination – a growing number of travelers are opting for the likes of Miches and other more remote destinations. Offering unparalleled eco-tourism opportunities in lush tropical nature, Miches is one of the most promising destinations in the Dominican Republic. Next year, a massive 500-room resort will open in the location, helping further boost its popularity.
